SEVENTH DOCTOR
"Come on Ace. We haven't got all day."
"Just a minute!" Ace called. She pulled several canisters of Nitro-9 into her bag. She might need it. She dashed into the console room where the Doctor was waiting.
"Come on Ace. Only once every ten million years can you see the Myror constellation from just the right spot on the planet Degard. Legend says that it is the most beautiful sight in all the cosmos."
He held open the door.
"After you."
Ace stepped out. They were on the top of a large cliff face. The Doctor checked his watch.
"Just about time," he pointed his umbrella up into a specific spot in the sky, "It should be visible in 5...4...3...2...1."
The most beautiful constellation of stars appeared. Ace would later say that it was so beautiful, that not even words could capture it's majesty. They stood there, watching the stars move overhead for over ten minutes, when finally, they vanished. The Doctor and Ace slowly turned and began to walk back to the TARDIS. But as soon as they boarded the TARDIS, it began to shake like mad. The Doctor and Ace tried to grab something for support, but it was too late. Both of them fell down and lost Consciousness.
Ace awoke in a cell. Alone. She ran to the bars. They were sealed shut. Ace then sat down and thought. Then she remembered. She pulled the Nitro-9 out of her bag, threw it at the bars and they exploded. An Alarm sounded but Ace was already on the move. She slipped through several doors. She emerged in another cell block. She ran along the cells, checking each one for the Doctor. He was nowhere to be seen. It was then that she heard footsteps. She slipped behind a pillar as two robots emerged. They clanked towards the opposite end of the Cell Block, not noticing Ace.
"The mistress has demanded to see the Time Lord. We will collect him." They clanked away.
Ace sneaked behind them. The only Time Lord she could think of who could possibly be on the ship was the Doctor. And this robots were going to get him. Ace followed the Robots carefully as after a few minutes they reached a cell guarded by an energy barrier. The Doctor was sat, his umbrella under his chin deep in thought. The robots pressed at the controls. Ace had to do something. She checked her bag. She only had two canisters of Nitro-9 left. One of them would easily dispose of both robots, but she had to throw it now before the energy barrier closed, otherwise the Doctor would get caught in the blast. She raised the canister and threw. It landed at the foot of the robots. The Robots kneeled down to examine the canister when- BOOM! What was left of the robots sailed past Ace's ear. Ace ran over to the controls. The Doctor opened his eyes and raised his eyebrows.
"You know Ace, there were quieter ways of dealing with those robots."
Ace ignored him and pressed a button, hoping she had hit the right one. The barrier lowered and the Doctor stood up and stretched.
"Right then. Time to find the TARDIS."
The Doctor and Ace crept along the corridors, avoiding robot guards as they clanked past.
"Strange. This prison is much larger than you think. We've been going in a straight line for miles. Surely we must have reached the end of the ship by now?"
"Maybe it's just a very long ship?" Ace offered.
The Doctor frowned. But then his face lit up.
"Look Ace! A lift!"
He ran over to the lift, climbed inside and pressed a big button marked "1".
"Was that a smart move?" Ace asked. "Aren't we supposed to be escaping, not going to meet whoever captured us?"
"Well Ace, two things. One, I'm curious as to whoever is in charge of our little kidnapping. And two, whoever it is attacked us while we were in the TARDIS, which means they know how TARDIS's work, which probably means they have my TARDIS under close supervision."
The lift dinged.
"Here we are!"
The doors opened. The Doctor scowled.
"You." he murmured.
The Rani stood, hands on hips, a cruel smile on her face and surrounded by Robot guards.
"Hello again Doctor."
The Doctor was held in the metallic grips of one of the robots. Ace was tied to a nearby pole. The Rani moved around the controls of her TARDIS, the prison had in fact been a lower part of her ship. The Doctor smiled at Ace and nodded.
"So... what's your plan? Capture me and keep me in a cell for all eternity? Cut me to bits to try and find out why I keep stopping you?"
"Nothing like that Doctor." The Rani smiled again, Ace wished she would stop. "I merely wished to collect you."
"Collect me?" The Doctor looked confused.
"Oh yes Doctor. There isn't another Time Lord like you in the universe. Well, maybe perhaps the Master, but he's not nearly as fun."
"And what about poor Ace?"
"What about her?"
"Well you can't keep her here for all eternity."
"I'll drop her on some planet somewhere now hush."
"Wait! What's your plan? These robots aren't like you?"
"I'm glad you asked Doctor. Bring the finished one in!"
A robot entered. But it wasn't like the others. It was dressed like Father Christmas.
"It's almost Christmas on Earth. And the one thing I've always wanted in my collection is human children. But it's so hard to get them on their own. So, my plan is this. My TARDIS will disguise itself as Father Christmas's sleigh, my robots, disguised as Father Christmas, will emerge and lure human Children back here to become part of my collection."
"That's a good plan. A very good plan. Almost foolproof. It just has one flaw. One teeny tiny flaw. You see, while we've been talking, my companion Ace has slipped away from your simple bonds, made her way to your console, removed the pathway to the engines, and is now about to drop a canister of explosives down there. NOW ACE!!"
Ace dropped the canister and a huge explosion rocked the ship.
"No! What have you done?!"
The Rani dashed to her controls, trying desperately to save her ship.
The Doctor and Ace dashed out of the console room.
"Stop them!! Kill them!!! KILL THEM!!!" The Rani screeched behind them.
The Robots sprinted after the Doctor and Ace. The Doctor pulled open another door and there it was: The TARDIS. The Doctor ran up and unlocked it. He and Ace climbed inside and the Doctor took off.
"What will happen to the Rani now?" Ace asked.
"Well Ace, the Rani's TARDIS will crash without functioning engines. The Rani may survive, perhaps she'll regenerate, but her robots won't. And the planet she was crashing towards is infested with swamps. I think we've seen the last of the Rani for a good long while Ace. Now! For somewhere new!" The Doctor tapped at the controls. Ace walked to the door but then paused.
"Professor?"
"Yes Ace?"
"Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas Ace. Merry Christmas my dear."
"Just a minute!" Ace called. She pulled several canisters of Nitro-9 into her bag. She might need it. She dashed into the console room where the Doctor was waiting.
