SIXTH DOCTOR
"Where are we Doctor?"
"I have no idea, Mel. But we appear to be underwater."
The Doctor was right. A large dome above them showed various aquatic life swimming above them.
"Fascinating." The Doctor walked up to the dome and touched it. "Mel, come touch this!"
Mel walked over hesitantly. She reached a finger out and touched the dome. It wobbled and stuck to her finger. She pulled it away.
"Doctor what is that?"
"It's an oxygen dome. In the 23rd Century, Humanity finds a way to contract air and access the oxygen particles to create a powerful water repellent dome, letting the air in but the water out."
"I'm smart Doctor, but that didn't make a lick of sense."
"I know. Isn't it wonderful?"
At once a door at the other end of the dome opened.
"Ah! Here are the brave under water pioneers! How are yo-"
The Doctor cut off. It was not one of the brave human under water pioneers. It was a horrific creature. Seaweed clung to its body and it begun to lumber towards the Doctor and Mel. More emerged from behind it.
"Oh no. Not these again. I don't have time."
"What are they Doctor?"
"Sea Devils. Lots of Sea Devils. Like Silurians, they came before humanity and believe the planet is rightfully theirs and they want to do that by killing all humans."
"Oh. I suppose we had better run?"
"That would be best."
The Doctor and Mel dashed out of the dome and through several more doors. They took several turns, but the Sea Devils were right behind them every step of the way. A blast sounded near Mel's head.
"They're shooting at us!"
"Oh yes! I forgot to mention the guns!"
They kept running. The Sea Devils began to close in. They dashed into a room.
"Ah! A control room! Excellent!" The Doctor jogged over to a console and pressed a button. The Door slammed shut. The Sea Devils hissed angrily on the other side of the door.
"So what now Doctor?"
"Well... now I do this."
He whizzed over several computer screens. He skimmed several readings. He paused. His face dropped.
"They're dead... the pioneers... they're all dead. The Sea Devils killed them..."
Mel gasped.
"What are we going to do?!"
"Well now there's only one thing to do."
The Doctor opened the door. The Sea Devils raised their weapons.
"Wait! I'm not human!"
The Sea Devils paused.
"Now! You killed all the humans on this station. That has made me very mad. But I'll let it slide, seeing it's Christmas."
"It's Christmas?"
"Not now Mel. It's December 25th if you must now. Now where was I? Ah yes. I'm going to offer you a chance. Not far from here, there's a planet called Siluria. I've already relocated many of your brethren, the Silurians there plus many Sea Devils over the years. You have this chance to go and live in peace with your species. What say you?"
The Sea Devils stood, weapons still raised. Mel held her breath. One shot and the Doctor would be a goner. But finally, the Sea Devils lowered their weapons.
"Take us to this... Siluria." One of them hissed.
The Doctor and Mel watched the Sea Devils make their way into the dark oceans of Siluria.
"Well, that was surprisingly easy wasn't it Doctor?"
"You know Mel, sometimes I think I would be a better man if all my battles could be resolved like this. But I suppose it can't be helped. Now then... I believe it's Christmas. I think that means Christmas Dinner. Somewhere nice. You know, I know a nice restauraunt at the end of the universe. We could go there?"
"As long as you're paying!" Laughed Mel.
The Doctor smiled. Mel climbed into the TARDIS. The Doctor turned round worried.
"I hope not. I don't have any money."
